C. About 4 hours. When you add the numbers together, you get
2 1/8 + 2 1/4 = 35/8 = 4 3/8 = 4.375
Since the answer is not greater than 4.5, you round down to 4. If the answer was greater than 4.5, you would have rounded up to 5.
