to find the ratio of the areas you would have to square the scale factor so the ratio of the areas would be 4:9

hope this helped!

Answer with explanation:

It is given that ratio of sides of two similar Polygons = 2 : 3

It Means that Sides of larger polygon is ,
(3)/(2) times than sides of Smaller Polygon.

As property of similarity states that, when two polygon are similar, ratio of their areas, is equal to Square of their corresponding sides.

Let the sides of polygon be,2 k and 3 k.

Ratio of areas of two polygons

=((2 k)^2)/((3k)^2)\\\\=(4k^2)/(9k^2)\\\\=(4)/(9)
