$28.59 is the mean (average)
how to:
1.) take all numbers and add them together
2.) take the number of numbers that you added and divide by that number

keep in mind that means is the same as asking for the average. all you need to do is add all the values and divide them by the number of values, which is 5
$39.99 + $31.99 + $19.99 +$23.99 + $26.99= 142.95
mean= 142.95/5 =
28.59
