Answer:

C) Travelers were exposed to the summer heat and heavy rains.

Step-by-step explanation:

The Trail of Tears is the name coined to the series of forced relocations of the Native Americans in the Southerneast United States as a result of the Indian Act of Removal promoted by federal goverment headed by President Andrew Jackson. They happened from 1831 until 1842 and were very well known for the conditions in which the Native Americans were treated as they were forced to travel on foot for months without staying at any town for resting as they were getting sick the the soldiers did not want the natives to transmit any infection to other Americans. They traveled to the designated Indian Territory while natives experienced hardships for the weather conditions and the starvation they were undergoing as part of the mistreatment of US soldiers.
