1.) Since there is 3 possibility's you need to add those all up
0.4 + 0.5 + 0.1

2.) Since there is 3 possibility's you need to divide everything you added up by 3

The answer is D, 0.6.

It says that the probability of a loss is 0.1 and a tie is 0.5, it would be the same for every play of the game. You add them up to get 0.6, D.

You could also add them all up: 0.1 + 0.4 + 0.5 = 1.0.

Then subtract the winning chance: 1.0 - 0.4 = 0.6

Either way you get the same answer.
