If Robert has $45 and has decided to double that amount every month, how much money will he have after 16 months? Robert’s earnings can be described by the function y = 45 * 2^x. (Put that function into your calculator, graph and go to table and find when x = 16 months).

If Robert starts from $45 then doubles it every month, as stated his earnings is calculated by the equation y=45 × 2^x. Substitute the value of x with the number of months, 16.
y= $45 × 2^16
y= $2949120

Therefore his earnings is $2949120.
