You will have to use trial and error in order to find the values for x and y.
Just keep plugging values until you get 7.

I found x is equal to 2 and y is equal to 5.

3(2) + (1/5)5 = 7
6 + 5/5 = 7
6 + 1 = 7
7 = 7
