1 divided by 1/3 is 3

To divide by a fraction, you would multiply the number by the fractions reciprocal (switch the places of the numerator and denominator). In other words:

1/(1/3)
would become
1*(3/1)
3/1 simplifies to 3, and 3*1=3

1 divided by 1/3 is 3
