The formula for the volume of a cylinder is V= a X h
Where a is the are of base and h is height. The base is a circle, so a= pi r^2
471=3.14 (r^2)(6) Divide both sides by 6, then 3.14
25 =r^2 Your next step would be to find the square root of 25
5=r Now you know the radius of the circle, but it asks for diameter. The radius is half of the diameter, so 5 X 2= 10. Your answer would be 10

V= pi * r^2 * h
471 = 3.14 * r^2 *6
471 = 18.84 * r^2
25 = r^2
Sqrt25 = r
5 = r
D= 2*5
D= 10in
