The correct answer is B) Paine was a journalist who supported the ideals of the American Revolution.

Thomas Paine wrote one of the most famous pieces of literature from the Revolutionary era. It was called Common Sense. This pamphlet laid out several different arguments as to why the colonies should declare their independence from Great Britain. Paine argued that it was ridiculous that a small island country (aka Great Britain) that was almost 3,000 miles away controlled an enormous land mass like North America. Along with this, he described the injustices taken by the British government and how the colonists should not accept this type of treatment.
