Two lines are perpendicular. The equation of the first line is y = 4x + 1. Which of the following cannot be the equation of the second line? A.y=-1/4x-2 B. x – 4y = –2 C. x + 4y = 2 D. 8y = –2x – 5

Ok so if their perpendicular that means they are pointed in the same direction and are the same length but are spread apart side by side from an unknown distance. So if the equation for the first one is y = 4x + 1 then the second one couldn't be B. x - 4y = -2 So B. x - 4y = -2 is your answer.
