Practice flute: 45 minutes
Eat: 15 minutes
Watch tv: 30 minutes
Ends: 6:00 pm

45 + 15 + 30 = 90 minutes = 1 hour and 1/2
Katie started to practice the flute 1 1/2 hours before 6, so she started at 4:30.
