Step 1

-7x - y = 0

7x + 8y = -6

Step 2

Choose equation 1 and make y subject of relation

y = -7x

Step 3

Substitute y in equation2

7x +8(-7x) = -6

7x -56x = -6

-49x = -6

x = 6/49

Step 4

Substitute x in equation 1

y = -7x
