A big box store employee pulls a pallet a distance of 15 meters to a new location in the store. The angle of the handle is about 35 degrees above the floor and the worker applies a forces of 45 N along the handle. On the newly polished floor, friction between the wheels and the floor is 25N. What is the work done by the employee on the pallet.

Given .

The distance travelled is s=15 m

The angle of the handle is

\theta=35^o

The force applied is F=45 N.

The frictional force is f=25 N

The horizontal force is

F'=45cos35=36.86 N.

Thus the net force is:

F_(net)=F^(\prime)-f=36.86-25=11.86N

Thus the work done is:

W=F_(net).s=11.86*15=177.9J

Thus the answer is 177.9J
