Acne is caused by clogging of the pores of the sebaceous gland. The pimples and cysts, formed as a result of this. The oil produced by sebaceous gland is transported to the skin via hair follicles. Blockage of hair follicles leading to accumulation of oil in the skin becomes a site of growth of bacteria propionibacterium, which infects and causes the formation of pus.
