Why are gymnosperms "naked seed" plants? they do not have ovaries. their seeds develop on the surface of sporophytes. their seeds are not protected. they do not produce seeds; they only produce spores?

they don't have ovaries !!

so they don't turn into fruits and thus seeds are naked !!
