explain differences between horseshoes and petanque

Horseshoes- a game where a person throws alternately horseshoes at a small 2ish foot pole from the ground.
petanque- 2 hollow balls on either side of a rope that you throw at a 3 based set.

in petanque you throw balls at a smaller ball.
