The sum of the measures of angle 2 and 3 = 90.
2x + 4 + 3x + 1 = 90
5x + 5 = 90
Subtract 5 from both sides
5x = 85
Divide both sides by 5
x = 17
Angle 2 = 3x + 1
3(17) + 1
51 + 1 = 52
