Using the Law of Sines (sina/A=sinb/B=sinc/C for any triangle) we can say:
L/sin((180-90)/2)=12/sin90 (sin90=1)
L/sin45=12
L=12sin45 cm
L≈8.49cm (to nearest hundredth of a centimeter)
