According to NBA standards, a basketball should bounce back 2/3 the distance from which it is dropped.

How high should a basketball bounce when it is dropped from a height of 3 3/4 feet?

3×4=12
2×4=8

8/12

4×3=12
3×3=9

3 9/12

3 9/12-8/12= 2 11/12

If I am not wrong then the answer is 2 11/12

Answer:

The ball will bounce back to 2.5 feet if it is dropped from a height of 3 3/4 feet

Explanation:

Height of drop = 3 3/4 feet

\texttt{Height of drop = }3(3)/(4)feet=(3* 4+3)/(4)=(15)/(4)feet

According to NBA standards, a basketball should bounce back 2/3 the distance from which it is dropped.

So the ball will bounce back to 2/3 of dropping height,

Here

h=(15)/(4)feet\\\\\texttt{Height to bounce backed = }(2)/(3)* (15)/(4)=(30)/(12)\\\\\texttt{Height to bounce backed = }(5)/(2)=2.5feet

The ball will bounce back to 2.5 feet if it is dropped from a height of 3 3/4 feet
