A store buys cans of soda for $.40 each and marks up the price 75%. What is the selling price?

I am not sure of my answer but here it is:

Always convert percentage to decimal. 75=0.75
Then you multiply the decimal and the original price.
0.75*$0.40=$0.30
add $0.30 to $0.40 and you get $0.70. So the price the store sells per can of soda is $0.70.

.40 * 1.75 = .7

The selling price is $0.70 or 70 cents
