Put terms with n on one side and terms without n on the other side.

4n - 5 = 2n + 14

4n - 2n - 5 = 14 Subtract 2n from both sides

4n - 2n = 14 + 5 Add 5 to both sides

2n = 19 Combine them

n = 19/2 Divide both sides by 2 to get n by itself.
