World War 2 was a war fought between 1939 and 1945.

Germany, Italy, Japan, France, Britain, the Soviet Union, and the United States all took part in World War 2. Adolf Hitler's attack on Poland in 1939 started World War 2. World War Two in Europe began on 3rd September 1939, when the Prime Minister of Britain, Neville Chamberlain, declared war on Germany.

On 8 May 1945, the Allies accepted Germany’s surrender, about a week after Adolf Hitler had committed suicide.Japan, did not surrender at the same time as Germany. It was able to hold out for another few months. Atomic bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki on August 6 and 9 respectively. After that the Imperial government sought the Emperor's personal authority to surrender which he granted.

Word war 2 was a major world war. Germany, Italy, and Japan started it. It was also the war that the holocaust happened in. Adolf hitler wanted revenge for Germany losing WW1 and blamed all of germanys problem on Jews. He killed many jews throughout the war in concentration camps. Germany also started taking over other countries. America joined the war after Japan bombed pearl harbor.
