If the Patriot Act is successful at stopping terrorist attacks, why are some Americans against it?

Although the Patriot Act says that it would provide tools to citizens in order to stop terrorism, that hasn't really worked. It was signed after the 9/11 terrorist attack as a way to prevent another terrorist attack. Some Americans are against it because it's not enforced, and they argue that the government hasn't done anything recently to prevent terrorism.

because some americans are parinoid that it wont work, and it will make terrorism more dangerous. also becuase some americans are with terroirism. hope this helps.
