first pool = 890 lts rate = 20.25 lts/min

second pool = empty rate = 42.5 lts

1.- rate = volume / time

time = volume/rate

Equation

890 + 20.25t = 42.5t

Solve for t (time)

890 = 42.5t - 20.25t

890 = 22.25t

t = 890/22.25

t = 40 min

2.-

Tank 1 Volume = 890 + 20.25(40)

Volume = 890 + 810

Volume = 1700 lts

Tank 2 Volume = 42.5(40)

= 1700 lts
