4(g - 1) = 24, 24/4= 6, g-1=6, add 1 to both sides, g=7

Get the variable on one side and the numbers on the opposite side.

4(g - 1) = 24

Do the distributive property.

4(g - 1) = 24 becomes 4g - 4 = 24

Then add 4 to each side of the equation.

4g - 4 = 24 becomes 4g = 28

Divide both sides of the equation by 4

4g = 28 becomes g = 7

So, g is equal to 7.
