Why can you rewrite 4.7 as 4.70

You can rewrite 4.7 as 4.70 because it doesn't matter if any zeros are behind the decimal there could be a thousand zeros at the end!!! It will still be 4.7 because basically the zero is just a place holder that you can use to either help you remember no other numbers are there or it helps knowing that there is zero in that place value. yes it could because you adding the 0 behind the 7 is basically a place holder or value stored which is nothing and zero means absolutely nothing therefore putting 4.7 or 4.70 is the same and your answer would be correct.
