Quadrilateral ABCD is a parallelogram with AB = 3y – 6, BC = 5x – 8, CD = 2y + 4, and AD = 4x –1. Find x.

Choice A. Work done below:
4x-1=5x-8 ( Set the opposite sides equal to each other).
4x-5x-1=-8 (Subtract 5x on both sides)
-x-1=-8 (Combine like terms)
-x=-8+1( Add 1 on both sides)
-x=-7 (Now since you have a negative sign on both sides you can cancel them)
x=7 ( Making that as your answer!!)
