A building that is 100 ft tall casts a shadow that makes a 30 degree angle with the ground. Approximately how long, in feet, is the shadow across the ground?

100
√(3) is how long the shadow would be.

To solve, remember the ratio for a 30/60/90 triangle:
short side = x
long side = x
√(3)
hypotenuse = 2x

the short side is the building, which is 100, so the long side is 100
√(3)
