According to the monks stories, what common trait do Hercules and Samson share

Strength. Also, they both killed a lion, were given their powers from a "god", and faced death because of a woman.

Both have an extraordinary force, given by divine power. Hercules had twelve jobs, and one was to kill a lion, in which case he strangled. Samson also killed a lion with his bare hands, and he ate honey from the leftover carcass.

Moreover both Samson and Hercules gave up their divine power, for an ordinary woman without specialties.

Finally, their story is full of scenes in which both solve puzzles. Samson also suggests several puzzles.
