The area of a rectangular wall of a barn is 240 ft.². It's length is 4 feet longer than twice it's width. Find the length and the width of the wall of the barn

a = 240 ft^2
l = ( x × 2 ) + 4
b = x

240 = ( x × 2 ) + 4 × x

Then I started plugging in random values for x. Eventually I came up with this ;

240 = ( 10 × 2 ) + 4 × 10
240 = 20 + 4 × 10
240 = 24 × 10
240 = 24

Length = 24 feet
Width = 10 feet
