How do you clear both sides of fractions? (1/6)+y=(5y-48)/(3y-9)

You want to get the y on one side, so to get rid of the numbers on the y side you simply just do the opposite to itself and the other side. Once the numbers are on one side and the y is on the other. You can just solve the equation ( suggested order of operation ) to get y= answer. Hope this helps! :)
