1. a casting director is the person in charge of getting actors for roles in a movie or play 2. the benefits of haveing one is that the normal director can focus on the finer details for the movie or play while they do the casting 3. some of the drawbacks are when it comes to the cast they have rule over it so if the director wants a specific actor and the casting one doesn't then the actor isn't put on
