Discuss the statement "Genuine freedom presupposes democracy and equality," in light of what you've learned about the French Revolution.

Well, the french revolution happened because people were being treated unequally. The queen was being a tyrant and everyone was exceedingly poor. Presuppose means to require as an antecedent in logic or fact. So whoever said this was saying that in order to have freedom, they need democracy and equality. They were basically saying that they wanted democracy which is what America has. This gives us our freedom and the ability to vote.
