First step is to set it equal to 0, so subtract 8 from both sides.

18a^2-8 =0

Now take out the GCF

2(9a^2-4) = 0

Now both 9 and 4 are squares, so we can do the following:

2(3a+2)(3a-2) = 0

Therefore, a = -2/3 and 2/3

I hope this Helps!
