A building has eight levels above ground and one level below ground. The height of each level from floor to ceiling is 14 1/2 feet. What is the net change in elevation going from the floor of the underground level to the ceiling of the fourth level above ground? Assume the floor at ground level is at an elevation of zero feet.

to find the elevation you would have to multiply 14 1/2 by 8 and you would get 116, the building is 116 ft above ground level

Answer:

The net change in elevation from undergroud level is 87 feets

Explanation:

Take into account that there are 4 levels above the ground, one level on the ground and one level below the ground, in total 6 levels. So we will find the net change in elevation multiplying the total of levels by the height of each level:

Ce=6 levels *14(1)/(2) ft

Where Ce, is the change in elevation. Re expressing the fraction number:

Ce=6 levels *(29)/(2) ft

Ce=87 ft
