Adapted from "what, to American slave, is Your Fourth of July?"-Frederick Douglass, July 5, 1852

What was the significance of this speech at the time it was delivered?
A-slaves were not yet freed from slavery
B-slaves did not have many legal rights
C-slaves were not yet considered property
D-slaves did not receive good work wages

The end of slavery started after Lincoln signed the emancipation proclamation around 1862.When this speech was created, it was before slavery was abolished. According to this, I believe the answer is A, slaves where not freed yet.
