1) Atma used his graphing calculator to find a best-fit equation for some data. In the equation w=0.32r + 4.8, w represents the weight of a cantaloupe in pounds and r represents its radius in inches, Predict the weight of a cantaloupe with a radius of 5 Inches.

The weight of a cantaloupe with radius 5 inches is 6.4 pounds

Here, we want to make a prediction

We already have the equation linking the weight to the radius

To get the weight corresponding to the radius, we simply substitute the vale of the radius into the equation

Thus, we have;

W = 0.32(5) + 4.8

W = 1.6 + 4.8

W = 6.4 pounds
