A gram and a kilogram is measured by weight or mass.
1 Gram is equal to 0.001 Kilogram, hence the prefix "Kilo", meaning thousand. 1000 grams = 1 kilogram.

Kilo means thousand, so a Kilogram is 1000 grams.
