The thymus serves a vital role in the training and development of T-lymphocytes or T cells, an extremely important type of white blood cell. So Basically It's Needed For The Immune System And It Helps To Heal Faster When You Get Sick

It is really important for a young person to have a thymus, because it is an organ that is involved in development of cells of the immune system, particularly T cells. A missing or malfunctioning thymus can make a child vulnerable to infections or developmental disorders. A person born without it will not develop a strong immune system and will probably die.
