The solution would be like this for this specific problem:

5%/84% = 5/84

The answer is 0.0595238095238095. And rounding our answer to he nearest tenth (percent), we’d be getting .060.

P (B) =
(5)/(100) = 0.05

Equation of conditional probability = P (A and B) = P(A) × P(B/A)

= P(B/A) = P (A and B) / P(A)

= P ( B/A ) =
(0.05)/(0.84)

= 0.0595 ≈ 0.060 or 6%

The probability that a customer who buys gasoline also buys a beverage is 0.060 or 6%.
