remember you can do anything to an equation as long as you do it to both sides ( and when mulitply or divide by a negative, flip sign)
-x+2<3x-6
add x both sides
2<4x-6
add 6 both sides
8<4x
divide by 4
2<x
x>2

-x+2<3x-6 subtract 2 from both sides
-x<3x-8 subtract 3x from both sides
-4x<-8 divide both sides by -4 (and reverse sign because of division by a negative value!)
x>2
