To use the distributive property for this, we have to analyze what the problem is asking of us.

Find the price of 7 CDs that cost 14.99 each.
This means that we can take 14.99 and multiply it by 7 to get $104.93. However, this has not ben distributed. To do this, we seperate 0.99 from 14.99. We end up with 7(14+0.99), which gets you the same total of $104.93.
