to find the distance between two points , (-5,4) (7,-5)

use the formula,

D=\sqrt[]{(x_2-x_1)^2+(y_2-y_1)^2}

where,

\begin{gathered} (x_1,y_1)=(-5,4) \\ (x_2,y)=(7,-5) \end{gathered}

then,

\begin{gathered} D=\sqrt[]{\mleft(7-(-5)\mright)^2+(-5-4)^2} \\ =\sqrt[]{(7+5)^2+(-5-4)^2} \\ =\sqrt[]{12^2+9^2} \\ =\sqrt[]{144+81} \\ =\sqrt[]{225} \\ =15 \end{gathered}

The distance between two given points is 15.
