3 - y/2 = 2(y + 7) Multiply by 2 to eliminate fraction
2(3) - y = 4(y+7) Simplify
6 - y= 4y +28 Move y over to the right
6 = 4y +28 +y Collect y terms, move 28 to the left
6-28 = 5y Simplify
-22 =5y Divide both sides by 5
-22/5= 5/5y Simplify
-22/5=y Rearange
y= -22/5
