HEEEEEEELLLLLLP! And QUICKLY!

In the Empire state building, one elevator leaves the 3rd floor and goes up at a speed of 2 floors per second. Another elevator leaves the 59th floor at exactly the same time and goes down at the same speed.
A) If the two elevators do NOT stop, how long will it take them to pass each other?

B) At what floor will the elevators pass each other?

Answer:

A) 14 seconds

B) 31st floor

Explanation:

First one:

3 + 2s

Second one:

59 - 2s

3 + 2s = 59 - 2s

4s = 56

s = 14

3 + 2(14)

31
