First, subtract 3 from each sides of the inequality.
(2x + 3) - 3 ≥ 17 - 3
2x ≥ 14
Divide both sides by 2.
2x / 2 ≥ 14 / 2
x ≥ 7
So, x has to be greater or equal to 7 to be in the solution set.
