not sure exactly what you are supposed to be doing but, I foiled the 4(x+8) and it became 4x+32-4=34-2x. I then did 32-4 which makes it 4x+28=34-2x. Then I added 2x to both sides making 6x+28=34 and then subtracted 28 from both sides making 6x=6 then divided both sides by 6 and got x=1.
