the radius of the circle is 9
the area of a circle formula = pi r^2
then find area of the entire square= lw
to find only the shaded region- subtract the area of the circle from the area of the entire square

the answer is D because the radius is 9 and 9^2 is 81 & the are of a circle is pi times the radius squared which is 81pi then the area of the square is 18 times 18 & to find the area of the shaded region subtract the are of the circle from the are of the square
