1/6 is a repeating decimal that cannot be expressed as a finite decimal. It would be 0.16 with a bar over 6

To find the decimal equivalent of a fraction, divide the numerator by the denominator. Keep in mind that the numerator is the top part of the fraction, while the denominator is the bottom part of the fraction.

In this case, the numerator for the first fraction is 1.
The denominator is 4.

Divide the numerator, 1, by the denominator, 4.
1 ÷ 4 = 0.25

As a result, you can confirm that the decimal equivalent of
(1)/(4) is 0.25

Use the same method to solve and find the decimal equivalent of
(1)/(6)

Divide the numerator, 1, by the denominator 6.
1 ÷ 6 =
0.1\overline{6}$

As a result, the decimal equivalent of
(1)/(6) is
0.1\overline{6}$ (6 repeating)
